Finding evidence to support whether AA is effective has been difficult. It is hard to track voluntary attendance across the Fellowship to get an insight into its long term outcomes. Some have suggested that high attendance and abstinence in the programme may be simply be reflective of more motivation in those members of the Fellowship.
