New Book Chapter: Tackling Causes and Consequences of Health Inequalities: A Practical Guide for Clinicians
May 7, 2019
I have just had a chapter on Young People and Complexity accepted for publication in a new book "Tackling Causes and Consequences of Health Inequalities: A Practical Guide for Clinicians." This book is for healthcare workers and their wider teams working in areas of deprivation and more broadly, with the aim of addressing the causes and consequences of health inequalities. It includes educational resources on health inequalities and the social determinants of health as well as focused areas on specific health issues in deprivation and excluded populations. Each chapter aims to enable practitioners with practical means to improve outcomes for their patients. Domains covered go beyond health into the psychological, financial and social aspects of well-being and will be applicable to those working in primary and secondary care and beyond. The book will cover the breadth of subjects identified by Royal College of General Practitioners’ work to formulate a curriculum for health inequalities. The book aims to deliver a concise but comprehensive overview of the key issues in health inequalities and, most importantly, how practically to address them.
The book is due for publication in Sept 2019 and is published by Francis Taylor.
