 Treatment Resistance
One of the principle reasons why people fail to progress in treatment is that they have not developed clear goals.   Whilst goal setting is a core element of working with people, it often receives scant attention and little in the way of research evaluation.  Mental Contrasting is a new approach to goal setting based on research studies and has been shown to increase goal attainment by 50%.  Know as WOOP goals, this acronym stands for:
  • Wish
  • Outcome
  • Obstacle
  • Plan
