Emerging research suggests that the same area of the brain that is responsible for empathy is linked to the individual's ability to maintain impulse control. In this fascinating article by Ed Jong, published in the Atlantic, he explores these critical research findings. In doing so, it also reviews much of the research that is currently influencing the design of the now young peoples residential unit I am designing at Bosence, Cornwall.
