Whilst people in the LGBTQ community show elevated levels of mental health, studies of substance misuse interventions within these populations is surprisingly sparse. Certainly with the rise of new sexual and drug related behaviors such as Chem Sex, along with alcohol's relationship with HIV, this is a particularly pressing issue for the health and well being of gay men. Findings published a review of studies of the impact of alcohol interventions on men who have sex with men that found some interesting preliminary findings in this under researched area.
