As one of the 30 per cent of the population that experiences sleep paralysis, I am fascinated with the subject. Discussion of the phenomena is always fascinating in training and lectures. It is amazing how many people experience it and yet do not even know that it is a neurological phenomena. I have also worked with a lot of clients who have been terrorized by the experience. So after discussing this recently with colleagues in South Wales, I thought I would share this definitive paper on sleep paralysis by Baland Jalal, a neuroscientist based at Cambridge University. It is probably the most definitive paper on the subject I have ever read. To read it click here. It also inspired me to do a Halloween special with some intriguing research studies on the not so super natural.
